Thanks for accepting my bid and the great post. As for the New York to NC thing, well, it works, but it takes a bit of adjustment. I don't know where you're from but suffice it to say that southerners have one speed: slow. Most of them also have a mindset that we'll just call "the reverse of enlightened". ;-)
I'm from Virginia, but from the DC/Beltway portion which doesn't seem to really qualify as "the South". My parents, however, live in South Carolina (DC area transplants) and I spend some time down there and never adjust to the slower pace. :-) But everyone is very polite, which doesn't happen up here in DC-land... Welcome!!
